2019 Youth Forum

The Youth Forum will provide Special Olympics Georgia youth volunteers the opportunity to attend an overnight, four day, 3 night event where they will experience team building, leadership training, educational sessions, participating in activities with Special Olympics athletes, staff and volunteers. This Forum will promote activities that provide sports training while also encouraging youth and athletes to play, laugh and have fun as individuals and teammates.

Polar Plunge 2019

Plunge Season is Approaching!

Do you have what it takes to make the plunge and be “freezin’ for a reason”? On February 23, 2019 brave Plungers will have the opportunity to jump into icy waters in the middle of winter to show their support for Special Olympics Georgia athletes! Acworth Beach will once again be the backdrop for a day of chilly fun including live music, food and prizes. Participants (teams and individuals) who collect pledges from friends and family totaling at least $50 secure their plunging spot!

What is Polar Plunge?

Polar Plunge is the largest fundraising effort benefiting Special Olympics and many states across the nation participate in this annual event through the efforts of their Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) program. Proceeds raised go to help provide FREE year round sports training and competition for SOGA’s 26,640 athletes!

12 Bars of Charity, December 7, Buckhead

For the first time 12 Bars of Charity is coming to ATLANTA!

The event is a friendly competition between Special Olympics Georgia and 7 other popular Atlanta charities, with the ultimate goal of having the most people signed up as participants under their cause/team name.

All can sign up for the event on December 7, pay the $30 registration fee and receive:

  • a 12 bars of charity long sleeve t-shirt (in black)
  • drink specials at local Buckhead bars

State Indoor Winter Games T-Shirts Are Now Available

The 2018 State Indoor Winter Games and Southeast Powerlifting t-shirts are now available for PRE-ORDER:

Shirts are light blue, long-sleeve and lightweight material. Shirt design features the event’s themed logo “Under the Big Top” on the front and statewide sponsors on the back. Shirts are $22.00 each and run in sizes small to xx-large.

From January 12 – 21, visit your local Publix store and ask for a Torch Icon at the checkout register for a small donation to Special Olympics Georgia. Donations received will allow Special Olympics Georgia to continue to provide free sports training and competition for 17,731 athletes across Georgia.
