14th Annual Marlow’s Tavern Golf  Classic

Date:  October 23, 2012

Place:  Country Club of Roswell, Roswell (golf tournament)
Aqua blue Restaurant, Roswell (awards, reception, and silent auction)

Since 1999, this annual golf tournament to benefit Special Olympics Georgia has raised more than $324,000 for our athletes. This year’s goal is to raise $50,000!

This fun-filled day of golfing will include a putting contest, shotgun start, hole contests, lunch, awards reception, and silent auction.

Special Olympics Georgia is participating in 2012 Special Olympics USA Scarf Project.  We welcome your hand-made scarves which will be given out at Indoor Winter Games January 20, 2012. Here is a list of the lucky duck winners in today’s Duck Derby at Six Flags White Water:

First place: Tom Adrien won a Mandalay Bay Resort Package including a 3-night stay at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino, 2 tickets to Disney’s The Lion King, 2 tickets to Shark Reef Aquarium at Mandalay Bay Resort, $100 off a Mandalay Bay Beach Cabana, and $150 dining credit to any one of Mandalay Bay’s 15 restaurants.

Handcuffed: Officers cuffed to treadmills June 4

Watch Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Department officers  while they are handcuffed to a moving treadmill for eight hours or until  their fundraising goal is reached June 4 at Wal-Mart.  And to encourage them to keep walking or running, make a donation to support the athletes of Special Olympics Georgia. 

Wal-Mart is located at 3250 Sardis Church Road, Buford. The event, called Cuffed for a Cause, will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
