2012 Duck Derby-Adopt a Duck

Letter from the CEO: Rugs for a Reason

Dear Special Olympics fans in Georgia,

We recently launched our RUGS FOR A REASON campaign that provides you with an elegant way to support Special Olympics Georgia  by purchasing area rugs that feature a subtle presentation of the Special Olympics logo.

This innovative campaign is donating 80 percent of its proceeds to Special Olympics Georgia (SOGA). RUGS FOR A REASON is currently being offered as a pilot program benefitting our organization. Find Out How You Can Help By Clicking here.

Our Goals
The RUGS FOR A REASON campaign aims to accomplish two
objectives:

1. Raise a record-breaking amount of money for SOGA.
2. Give supporters a new, elegant way to demonstrate their love for SOGA.

How you can Help
There are two ways you can show your support.

1. Click here and go to rugsforareason.com and purchase a rug for yourself, a loved one, or a participating athlete.
2. Go to rugsforareason.com and spread our message by sharing on Facebook and Twitter, or forwarding this email. Thanks in advance; even the smallest effort can make a big impact.

About the Rugs
We have partnered with Shaw, the world’s largest manufacturer of high-quality area rugs, to design and produce this beautiful collection featuring the Special Olympics logo. It has been a joy at recent events to watch athletes and supporters try to locate the Special Olympics logos in these versatile, stylish area rugs. You can see them for yourself now at rugsforareason.com.

Each detail of the design is woven into these area rugs, as opposed to the less-impressive printed or dyed patterns you might find elsewhere. With Shaw’s quality, you can count on enjoying these area rugs for many years to come. There are several rug designs to choose from, allowing everyone the opportunity to find the most suitable rug for their space. Whether it’s a gift to an athlete, a conversation piece at your office, or an elegant addition to your home, you can show your support  for SOGA  with style.

Thank you for visiting www.rugsforareason.com to show your support for Special Olympics Georgia!

Visit your Publix this week and support Special Olympics

Publix, Procter & Gamble, and Special Olympics have partnered together for 32 years to help people with intellectual disabilities achieve their dreams. Here’s how you can help…

• Support Special Olympics while you shop at Publix by purchasing your favorite P&G products like Charmin, Pantene, and Downey and many other well-known brands during the month of January.
• And while you’re at Publix until Jan. 25, show you’re a fan of Special Olympics by purchasing your very own paper torch at the check-out register for $1, $3, $5 or $10 to support Special Olympics and your local athletes!

Be sure to check out this link and watch two athlete videos.

This year’s torches include $14 in coupons on select Procter and Gamble products. These coupons are good above and beyond the brandSAVER™ coupons, so purchase a torch and you’ll find out just how rewarding it is to “Be a fan”!

The instructions are posted here on this link: http://www.specialolympicsga.org/support/special-events/scarf-project-2012/.

Help us reach our goal of 2,400 scarfs by January 10, 2012!

You can mail these scarfs to:

Holiday Donations

You Can be a Hero to an Athlete

You don’t have to be a professional athlete to be a hero to a Special Olympics athlete. As athletes are an inspiration, you can also be one by becoming a coach and teaching healthy habits or a sport, being there for an athlete at a State Games as a fan and, of course, making a donation. Without scoring a touchdown or pitching a no-hitter on the big screen, you can still help create a level playing field for children and adults with  intellectual disabilities.

Every little bit counts:

You can make a difference:
●$25 provides medals for one competition;
●$50 provides 3 athletes housing for 2 nights at a State Games; and
●$100 feeds 20 athletes one meal at a State Games.

Help show that everyone can be a hero and that everyone can be good when we work together.
